Chapter 1: Minor Repair

“Dear passengers, please note that we have suddenly encountered a thunderstorm, the aircraft will experience some turbulence, please fasten your seat belts and do not walk around.”

After the radio broadcasted the message three times, the plane suddenly shook violently.　

“Ah!” A passenger suddenly shouted.　　

Li Zixi had flown countless times. Unfortunately, she encountered turbulence when she flew for the first time. At that time, she was very nervous. The violent shaking of the plane almost made her vomit. Because of that, she had a deep impression of flights and did not fly again for the next six months. 　　

Later, as she flew more, she understood that it was normal to encounter bumps in flight so there was no need to make any fuss. 

So, she is very calm now. Now, towards passengers who were disturbed in the cabin, she even felt a small sense of superiority. 

However, she could not laugh and the superiority only lasted for five minutes because suddenly her eyes turned black and she knew nothing.

When she opened her eyes again, she froze for five seconds thinking of her encounter on the plane. She thought she should be in the hospital now. Thinking of being able to survive the plane crash, she felt she should buy a lottery ticket to celebrate. 

However, when she carefully observed the surroundings, her brain crashed. 

Who could tell her, what hospital used carved wooden beds for patients and what hospital would put flags on them?

She quickly put her hand in front of her eyes and after looking back and forth several times, determined that the body was not hers. 

Looking at the top of the bed, she took in her current situations and finally came to a conclusion. That is, I have transmigrated and I am wearing the clothes of the Qing dynasty.

Wanting to understand this, Li Zixi wanted to yell to God, “ Why would he let her cross over when she had just graduated from school?! Hasn’t she suffered in vain for years abroad? Didn’t her laborious study of economics become useless? God, this thief is really a villain!”

What the hell is this and why is this woman wearing modern clothes?! Sweater, jeans, duck cap, sneaker. Nani? What went wrong? She sat up in shock. 

Seeing that Li Zixi did not speak, Chen Pingping wiped tears from the corner of her eyes and sat next to Li Zixi. She said cautiously, “Xi Xi, now you are awake, should we go to the director to finish the scene just now? Ah?”

Director? Filming? Li Zixi looked at her clothes and then Chen Pingping’s clothes and frowned. Was she not transmigrating to the Qing dynasty but modern instead?

Chen Pingping frowned at Li Zixi and immediately said, “However, Xixi, if you feel uncomfortable, wait to shoot. In fact, the director did not scold you alone. Look, there are many actors on the set who were scolded by him.” 

After saying this, she looked at Li Zixi’s complexion and said, “Just ah, Xixi, you rejected a anti-Japanese drama a few days ago. We can’t stop acting today, if this news spreads, no one will ask you to film again. You have just started and can’t shoulder such a reputation.”

Li Zixi was still immersed in her thoughts and did not answer for a while because she did not know what to say. She had no memory of the original owner and was afraid of saying the wrong thing as soon as she opened her mouth. 

Chen Pingping looked at Li Zixi’s black face without saying a word and tears came out again and she said “Xixi, let me tell you the truth, it was Wang jie. When we came, she specifically told me to have you finish the filming. If you can’t finish shooting, she’ll fire me!”

After she finished talking, she was much happier and closed her eyes, ready to be scolded. 

Li Zixi looked at the trembling woman in front of her, tears made her eyeliner smear, looking both funny and terrifying. She opened her mouth and said, “Take out a paper towel first and wipe your tears. I just woke up and was a little dizzy so I didn’t respond for a while. I will go film, you can rest assured. But, where is the script? Since the director thinks I’m not good at acting, let’s read the script again.”

Listening to the soft female voice in front of her, Chen Pingping didn’t respond for a while, looked at the woman in front of her and replied out of reflex, “Oh, in my bag.”

Li Zixi reached out to her and seeing that she didn’t respond, took her hand and shook it in front of her eyes. She smiled and asked, “What about the script?” 

Chen Pingping shook her body and immediately woke up saying, “I’m sorry, I’ll give it to you immediately, I’ll show it to you immediately.” Soon, the crumpled piece of paper was given to Li Zixi.

Looking at the paper that was like rotten leaves in front of her, Li Zixi felt that her world view was confusing. Is this a script? It was the first time that she saw such a simple script! She looked up at Chen Pingping.

Chen Pingping lowered her head, embarrassed and said in a low voice, “Didn’t Xixi say that the role was just a little maid and there was no need to read the script? You let me throw it away, saying that you weren’t upset. I was afraid that you would need it later so I stuffed it into the bad.” After speaking, she looked up at her. 

Li Zixi questioned with that strange speech, what kind of wonderful person was the original owner?

It could be heard from the woman’s tone that the original owner had been scolded by the director so she didn’t shoot again. Moreover, it seemed that this had not happened only once or twice. Looking at the tone and movement of the woman in front of her, Li Zixi felt dizzy. 

This was probably a woman who was not good at acting and also not a good person. 

Li Zixi exhaled deeply and calmed down. She meditated to herself, “Be calm. Be calm. Be calm.” Since God let her cross over, she should be in charge of what this person would be like in the future.

It was part of the so-called past, for example, died yesterday. The future, for example, born today. 

Can’t act? It doesn’t matter, she will act. It doesn’t matter, she… can still play. 

In her previous life, her family lived in the famous Hengdian of the film and television city. She grew up watching filming and was a guest in various roles since childhood. 

A cameo child, she played a little maid in junior high school and a supporting actress in high school. 

It is fair to say that she knows all the domestic directors and famous actors. Because she was a small-time crew member, she had her own unique rules of survival. Her mouth was particularly sweet and especially coaxing so the directors and actors called her little princess. 

I have been part of the acting crews since I was little, where can my acting skills go? There is the accumulated experience of more than ten years. Moreover, she really has a talent for acting. The reason why she didn’t star in the lead role and did not get popular before was because her parents restricted her from developing as an actor. 

Her parents were locals and also worked in the film and television world with many crews. They naturally knew what directors, actors and crew members are like. Since they understood the rules of this circle, they certainly did not want their daughter to be trapped in this big dye tank. 

Moreover, in their eyes, actors are nothing special. There is neither the light that fans think, nor three heads and six arms. The bright and beautiful people on TV and news are all packaged. Actors are no different from ordinary people, except that they are slightly more beautiful. 

The stars are still very hard working. Many people know that stars make a lot of money but they don’t see all the hard work behind it. 

Except for some undedicated actors, the vast majority of actors are still very dedicated. She had worn a skirt in the winter to film summer scenes. She had diving scenes filmed over and over again. She tired out her body and as she got older, she would get sick. 

Therefore, even if stars make a lot of money, Li Zixi’s parents wanted to keep a clear head and absolutely did not allow their daughters to enter the entertainment industry. What is the use of more money except being uncomfortable and being forced to be conservative? Why bother for that little paper?

Although they did not want their daughters to enter the entertainment industry, they still took the show to their daughter.

Because Li Zixi’s father and mother were crew members, they thought of filming as a common thing. Simply performing a supporting role with a few acts was not tiring and brought in money. Plus, people always have dreams of being an actor and Li Zixi was no exception as a child. Since they had the conditions to make her dream come true, then just let her go and act. 

Moreover, when she was acting, they were watching on the side and nothing could happen to her.

To sum it up, before transmigrating, the acting profession to Lizi’s family could only be an interest. Not a career.

So that’s chapter 1! I don’t really get the title. Maybe it means something like there’s a minor change, starting over?

In any case, we’re introduced to our main character, Li Zixi. She seems like a level-headed person and quick to realize her original owner’s faults. Hopefully, she’s as lovable as Shen Chuchu 😛

Also, this is my first time doing this sort of thing so please be patient and don’t be afraid to point out any errors. I’m an engineering student, not an English major so ah… I may miss some things.

As of right now, I’ll probably updated twice a week or so. I’m currently working from home so I am still flexible but who knows when things will change!!!
